Behind the scenes of our shooting day

Hello everyone,

We wanted to share with you today in this article the organization of our very first photo shoot as a brand new brand, tell you in detail how we were able to enrich our site Bohomane with quality content and above all how this famous day went!

We are going to present to you our crazy Team without whom nothing would have been possible, the chosen location, the equipment we used during the shoot as well as the sorting and photo retouching that we were able to carry out!

To begin with and I think this is the most important, it is essential to be surrounded by the right people, so we have called on a fabulous team that we are going to present to you.

A professional and dynamic hairdresser

We might as well tell you that the mission was not simple, we had no less than 50 products (headbands, hair clips and scrunchies) to shoot and so you will have understood that many hairstyles to achieve in one afternoon! “Challenge accepted” for Gwénaëlle Le Brun, a young hairdresser from the Bordeaux region specializing in wedding hairstyles whose work we let you admire on her Instagram @hair_maq.

For our part, we had prepared inspiration boards before the day via the Pinterest network: examples of hairstyles, styles of photography or even look suggestions! The important thing for us was to be able to translate our desires thanks to various inspirations from our hairdresser but also from our models so that the final result was as aesthetic as possible.

For her part, Gwénaëlle had created a homemade creation: a board of inspirations on a large cork board on which were pinned all the photographs of the hairstyles she wanted to create in a bohemian-chic spirit requested ( wavy hair, buns, half buns, braids, styled/disheveled buns, ...).

The different hairstyles came together at breakneck speed and thanks to his speed and above all his talent, we were able to shoot all our products for the launch of the site!

Natural and radiant models

Being a young brand just launching, we're not going to hide it from you, we called on our friends and family to act as models for a day and we are more than delighted with how the photographs turned out because it's really not easy to pose in front of a photographer for a whole afternoon in full sun when you've never done that!

A huge thank you from the bottom of my heart to Claudia, Orlane and Maud who were all perfect and played the game particularly well!

We asked our apprentice models to bring different outfits for the big day so that we could always match the Bohomane accessories with at least one outfit! The goal is to give you ideas for simple looks to wear with our accessories that you can find on each of our product sheets.

Little anecdote: We did the shoot outdoors and the models had to be able to easily change between each shot, we found the ideal product: the portable fitting room (yes, it exists!). It is possible to find them on Amazon for example or on other slightly more specialized sites but we, no longer having enough time to have them delivered, we found what we were looking for at... Décathlon! So we invested not in a changing room but in a portable shower cabin (let's hope we get the chance to go wild camping in our lifetime!). I'll let you admire the famous cabin which did the job perfectly!

A talented photographer

It was Arnaud, the co-founder of Bohomane who took the different photos of our models that day because he is also passionate about photography.

Each look was shot at least twenty times so that we could have different viewing angles (photo of the entire look, portrait photo and zoomed-in photo on our Bohomane accessories) and it was also important to shoot "atmosphere photos" so that we could have visuals with all the models together.

2262 photos, here is exactly the number of photographs taken on the day of the shoot, a trifle isn't it ^^!

We would like to sincerely thank all the people who participated in one way or another in this project and who help us on a daily basis to develop Bohomane.

A fabulous team is essential but the choice of location for a shoot is also very important!

A place combining old stones and nature

We had several ideas for the location of the shoot but our final choice quickly became obvious to us. The hostilities therefore took place at the Jardin Public which is a place known to all Bordeaux residents! We wanted to shoot in a place combining old stones and nature and above all that it was located in Bordeaux.

No pretty photos without good equipment either! We don't have the makeup of the perfect professional photographer but we thought you might be interested to know how we took our photos.

Photo equipment

We are equipped with a Canon 600D and we took the photos with the 50mm lens.

Finally, some photos were taken with a tripod for more stability.

The final step, the one we all love, sorting and photo editing

Honestly, when the 2262 photos appear on your screen, you stay in P.L.S for a few minutes...

Then you get started and I would say that in 3 hours the sorting is already done!

As for the retouching, we have no complaints, very little retouching was done on the photos, we simply resized them and for some we added a little brightness and saturation via Photoshop!
